A lot of women select caesarean deliveries due to less complicated processes and to avoid dangerous circumstances. Under the pregnancy situation, the mother should be strong physically and mentally. Here I am sharing food after C-section or diet to follow after caesarean deliveries.

This surgery can be a bit bearable than normal delivery but post-surgery, a mother will need ample nutritious food, rest and a bit of exercise. Also, the mother needs to monitor everything after surgery. One of such things is diet plan and nutrition. So, today we will write about the diet and food items to intake post caesarean operation.

As we discussed that after the delivery period, the diet, nutrition becomes very vital as it helps a woman to recover fast and retain stamina in the body. Also, she needs to breastfeed her baby.
As we all know breast milk is the only source for a newborn baby for at least 4 to 5 months, she needs to gain proper weight and nutrition through a good diet.
Diet to follow after caesarean operation:
Drawing and executing a diet plan is one of the most challenging tasks. What should be eaten and what should be avoided should be known well. The diet plan should include everything from healthy, to tasty, to a bit tangy, but in limited proportion. The mixed food items will help you to gain vital nutrients, vitamins and other elements.

- Proteins, calcium and minerals food items:
Proteins help widely in the growth and development of new tissues that heal the body and pain caused by C-Section operation. There are many food items rich in proteins such as milk, cheese, cottage cheese, fish, meats, beans, lentils and many more. These help in maintaining muscles strength and also help to repair the tissues. Calcium helps to strengthen the bones, teeth, regularizes blood circulation and also prevents osteoporosis. At least 350 mg calcium is transferred to the baby while breastfeeding. Also, consume sesame seeds as they are rich in iron, calcium, copper, magnesium and phosphorus. - Vitamin-rich Foods:
Vitamins help widely to gain energy in the body and also help to repair issues. These are rich in oxidants and help in producing collagen in your body. These help in building new skin and tissues. Vegetables like spinach, fenugreek seeds, broccoli and fruits like orange, papayas, strawberries, watermelons are rich in vitamins. Chapattis, naan, kulcha, parathas are Indian bread and can be gradually consumed after pregnancy.
- Easy to digest foods:
The human body accumulates acidity after giving birth to an infant. Newbie mothers should be careful about avoiding food items that directly cause gas and constipation. Post-C-section period, a mom should avoid consumption of junk foods like pizza, burger or wraps and carbonated drinks. A woman should always choose food items like soup, yoghurt, broth, cottage cheese, and other items that are easy to digest.
- Iron-rich Foods:
Iron maintains the haemoglobin levels in the human body. Moreover, it helps to regain the blood lost during the C-Section operation. Iron also helps to function the immunity. Food items such as oysters, egg yolk, red meat, dry fruits and beef liver are rich in iron. The recommended iron intake for women with age 20+ is 9 mg minimum per day. Just see to it you do not intake more iron as it can be dangerous.
- Liquids:
In order to avoid constipation, acidity and headache, a woman must intake sure to consume more and more liquids. Good fluid and liquids help a woman to stay cool and relaxed. More fluids help in easy bowel movement. Drink coconut water, orange juices at least two times a day, low-fat milk, buttermilk and lots of fresh cold water are all you need to be energetic the entire day.
- Dairy products:
Low-fat dairy products such as skimmed milk, low-fat milk, low-fat flavoured yoghurt and processed cheese provide a tonne of protein, calcium and vitamins. These minerals are essential for mothers who have just given to newborn babies. A woman must intake a minimum of 500ml of dairy products regularly.
- Fruits and Vegetables:
Green vegetables, fruits, vegetables are very essential for the body. They have loads of calcium, vitamins, iron and essential nutrients. Include beans, eggplant, spinach, carrot, tomatoes, beats, broccoli, lotus stems, fenugreek in your lunch and dinner for a healthier you. These are great sources of proteins, vitamins and other vital nutrients. Blueberries and strawberries are also good food items to stay healthy.
- Miscellaneous:
Apart from consuming the foods listed above, a woman should also consume a few spices and condiments that can help a newbie mother to recover from the pain of C Section operation. These include cumin seeds, fenugreek, ginger, garlic, turmeric, and carom seeds (ajwain) are some spices that have medicinal and healing properties. These reduce inflammation and also help in curing acidity problems. What else can one ask for?
A woman can consume everything mentioned above. Also, she can opt to eat outside food but with oper permission of the doctors and medical experts. Drink lots of liquids and perform light exercises and take a lot of that will help a mom to be fit. Also, light dance can be a helpful activity.
