When it comes to visiting places like Shimla, there is no such thing as best time. Shimla is a captivating location with excellent weather the whole year. Shimla is one of the most famous places in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Also known as the Queen of Hills, Shimla attracts thousands of tourists a year. Every season is worth the visit.
Being the scrumptious capital of Himachal Pradesh, a traveller can enjoy various adventure activities like skiing, trekking, paragliding and lots more. As we discussed earlier, that climate is very favourable all the year round. However, summer is the best time to visit Shimla. This is one of the main seasons to visit here and enjoy. During this season, the temperature is pleasant and it is between 15 to 22 degrees. Travellers can carry light woollen clothes and jeans.Monsoon time in Shimla is pleasant and little risky at the same time. Areas in Shimla are prone to landslides as well as rainfalls. So, many travellers choose not to visit here during rains. However, this is an off season and hence, hotels and resorts rates are less.
Shimla is a beguiling hillock in Himachal Pradesh located at a height of 2202 mt above the sea level. It is an ideal and all year round holiday destination. Moreover, you can enjoy eternal sightseeing as well as some adventure activities too. As we discussed earlier, summers are ideal time to visit Shimla. Moreover, you can enjoy several activities like paragliding, rafting, skiing, camping and lots more. These activities are enjoyed at Kufri, Narkanda, Chharabra and lots more places. There are also many other places to visit here such as Jakhu temple, Woodville palace, Tara Devi temple, Christ church, etc.
When we consider winters in Shimla, they are just perfect. Winters are the peak time to visit here. During this season, there is snowfall which can create a perfect holiday place. Maximum couples as well as families visit Shimla during winters to enjoy adventure, climate and foods. Moreover, December is the best month to visit Shimla for the super activities like skating and skiing.
You can reach Shimla via different modes of transport such as by air. The nearest airport to reach Shimla is located in Jubbarhatti. Moreover, it is located almost 22 kms from the city Shimla. From Delhi, it takes 90 minutes to reach the city. You can also visit by train. Explore the eternal green mountains and breath taking views during train journeys. Kalka station is nearby to Shimla. It takes 6 hours to reach Shimla. You can opt to go on Rail Motor, Shimla Express, Himalayan Queen and lots more.
Road journey is also possible to Shimla. Since Shimla is well connected to major vibrant North Indian cities, there are several online cabs or buses available. You can pick a bus from New Delhi and many tourists opt for bus services from here to Shimla. The journey is truly enjoyable and you can also explore the true beauty of Shimla.

Shimla is the original hill station of India if we can say that. When I was there I took up Taradevi trek and it was awesome.
Shimla has always been one of my most favourite places to visit. You gave some very handy tips to visit Shimla. It is a fairly easy destination to make it to.
Your travel blog has left me thinking that maybe I should visit Shimla soon. I went there eons ago as a child and have vivid memories of Kufri, Mall Road, and some famous garden that we had visited.
